Tree Care
A common question that we’re asked is, how can I keep our Christmas tree alive longer?
There are a few things you can do to keep your NYC Christmas tree fresh and we’ve outlined them below.
A fresh cut. Brooklyn Christmas Tree makes a fresh cut in the trunk of every tree before delivery. This allows the Christmas tree to drink water and stay fresh. Please note that it could take up to 48 hours for your tree to start taking up water.
Fresh water. You should check the water levels in your tree stand every day. The water should always be above the base of your Christmas tree trunk.
Add Tree Life Extension Solution. Brooklyn Christmas Tree offers a solution that can be added directly to the tree’s water. This solution helps your Christmas tree maintain its freshness. Make sure to add the solution at checkout and we’ll deliver it with your Christmas tree.
Avoid heat sources. To keep your Christmas tree fresh longer, avoid placing it near fireplaces or heating ducts.
Light safety. Inspect your Christmas tree lights before adding them to your tree. Any frayed or broken strands should be thrown out. Use only low-power, low-heat producing Christmas lights.
Plug safety. Never overtax an electrical power supply. If you have multiple strands of lights to plug in, it is recommended that you use a power supply strip. Never leave your Christmas lights on when you are not home.
